The bezel is inspired by the logo of ICE-SAR and features red-marked indicators at 12, 3, 6, and 9. Though instantly recognizable as a Luminox by dial alone, the ICE-SAR ARCTIC watch represents a considerable departure from the brand’s historic case design, with a uniquely bevelled case silhouette, an angular integrated bezel, and sharply pointed lugs which look like they could be inspired by the ice tools used by ICE-SAR. The dials are also particularly interesting as these hand-blasted pieces resemble the lava fields that cover about 30% of Iceland. Interestingly, in some of the timepieces, the 12 o’clock marker is fixed with “112” instead, reminding the wearer of the emergency number needed for rescue operations. The timepieces under the collection also feature a date window at the 3 o’clock marker.
